Is it possible to use the theory of $\overline{\partial}$problems to analyze the normal matrix models?
Progress on this problem for the case with potential $Q(z)=z^22c\logza$, with $a$ and $c$ constant, was reported by Ken McLaughlin, as part of a joint and ongoing work with M. Bertola and S.Y. Lee.
